Program Option
Campers choose an activity from a variety of options. They are given the opportunity to sign up the day before. There is a fun variety of activities to choose from which may include sailing, soccer, fudge-making, crafts, frog-catching, musical theatre, fishing, basketball, sandcastles, clay pits, mountain hike, mini-putt, waterfront games, and much more.
Lunch
Camp Tawingo serves a delicious and nutritious lunch to campers and staff every day in our outdoor picnic area (the Funch Hall). Our skilled kitchen staff can accommodate medically diagnosed allergies, food restrictions, and some lifestyle choices (vegan, vegetarian). Camp Tawingo is a nut-safe facility - we do not store or serve anything that may contain nuts. In order to keep our camp community healthy, campers should not bring food from home to camp.
Freetime
Everyday after lunch campers can choose to go to the Sportsfield, the Library, or the Costume Room to play, learn, compete, or practice their skills. At these times these areas are fully staffed to accommodate any number of campers and any type of activity offered.
General Swim
Every afternoon campers get an opportunity to enjoy time at the Tawingo Waterfront. They can swim, play on the beach, jump off the diving boards, go down the big red slide, or work on/improve their swimming skills.
Afternoon Snack
Every afternoon campers are served a special snack, which is usually a homemade dessert prepared by our bakers or a frozen treat.
All Camp Program
These programs, unique to Camp Tawingo, take the form of active, wide games that counsellors design for their campers. They are often tied to themes and involve elaborate stories, amazing costumes, props, music, and more. Our campers consistently rate these experiences as one of the best things about Camp, and may not notice how much they learn about cooperation, fair play, team work, and leadership in the process.
